Make a snapshot so you can rollback. Windows can get unstable/unbootable if things go wrong.

  1. Uninstall Citrix ®️ XenServer ®️ Client Tools
  2. Reboot
  3. Uninstall XenServer PV-Drivers in Device Manager in following order (reboots may be needed & show hidden devices in dev man):
    • XenServer PV Network Device (one ore more Devices)
    • XenServer PV Storage Host Adapter
    • XenServer PV Network Class
    • XenServer Interface
    • XenServer PV Bus (c000) (if present)
    • XenServer PV Bus (0002) or XenServer PV Bus (0001)

4. Reboot
5. Check that you see this unknown device in Device Manager:
6. SCSI-Controller - PCI-Device ID 5853:0002 (If this does not appear, manually remove drivers)
7. Unpack ZIP file
8. Insert Driver ISO & Start setup.exe
9. Follow the install wizard
10. Reboot
11. Manually install device drivers from the Drivers ISO, reboot as needed.

Manually removing Xen Drivers:
1. Create a snapshot of the working VM if possible.
2. Reboot the VM.
3. Uninstall XenTools, guest agent, drivers and all individual drivers msi through Add/Remove programs. (guest agent first, then PV tools, then each individual driver msi in any order).
4. Delete system32/drivers/xen*.sys
5. Remove xenfilt from the upperfilters registry entries.
Note: Check all of them. Example o HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class{4d36e96a-e325-11ce-bfc1-00802be10318 o HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\*
6.Reboot the VM
7. Install XenTools and reboot as many times as needed.
